Prepping for my personal Klondike rush

The city has pulled me in a bit. Quality time spent, a bit of the city seen and a few final touches on the van.

During the Klondike gold rush, something like 70,000 prospectors came through this very city with a similar destination and perhaps equally half baked plan. They stopped here as I am doing to load up on supplies before heading off into Canada. Local laws eventually required them to stock up to a ton of food to ensure they didn't starve. Now, I'm not getting quite that packed, but I am finalizing the van's living space a bit. Hanging curtains, finishing off some trim, wiring in an inverter for 110 power... quite a bit of smaller bits of even more of that 'unfinished business'. A million phone calls made, state licensure in my field applied for, a pile of old CD's ripped to my computer, and myriad other tedious but needed tasks completed.

I find it that its actually more these "small things" being addressed thats freeing me. Cutting the tiny binds of the Lilliputians that have been tying me down. The upcoming freedom of the open road is becoming more palpable and the draw is growing stronger. I have to get moving soon!

I also got to see some of my closest friends, and their new baby. I can't say I've ever been happier to hold another person's child. They are from the Denver chapter of my life, but they'll always be apart of me. They make the very real possibility of landing here after my trip all the more appealing.
