Escaping Skagway, back to Whitehorse

It doesn't really feel like I've spent so much time in and around Skagway, but looking at the date, I sure have. With the Chilkoot done, it's time to move along a bit further down the Alaska highway. Well, after a few more things.
The three gals from the hike and I (We lost Sam to "real life" yesterday) grab a quick bite to eat along with the luxury of "town coffee". We don't have much time to enjoy it though, as they need to catch an early ferry to Juneau. We walk to the ferry terminal and say our goodbyes. There's a chance our paths will cross again, but who knows.
Back at the campground, I take a much needed and quite enjoyable hot shower. After getting cleaned up I decode its time to do the same to my growing stash of dirty clothes. Time to find a laundromat. Luckily, with the RV clientele so prevalent up here, it is not had to find one. While the clothes do their thing I work to collect all of the photos and videos from the past few days onto my computer. Another laundromat patron, on his return trip to the lower 48 from Alaska, keeps me welcome company. We swap stories of our travels and he shares a few tips he's learned along with a few maps he no longer needs. Before I realize it, and just as the last memory card is cleared, my clothes are done. After an hour or so on the Wi-Fi at a local hotel cafe, I gas up and hit the road.
Crossing back into Canada via road, I encounter a slightly more serious border Patrol officer, but it's about as easy as all the previous crossings have been. I make it back to Whitehorse and stop into the camp just south of town that I stayed in before. Knowing it the facilities, and that it has Wi-Fi, I pull in for the night and handle some digital chores. Its also here that I put the van back together again, recovering and reorganizing from the river trip and hike.
It's a rather uneventful day, to be honest, aside from the farewell to three potentially great friends.
